They Are Headphones And They Function - Sound Proof Headphones Review

By Nathan Bennett

It covers my whole home and out into the yard for a little distance. You'll never get the rated 100 meter range unless the transmitter and receiver are both outside and in the clear, but the range of this pair is very adequate! The Sennheiser RS 180 Headphones exceeded all of my requirements. There is ample room for over the ear hearing aids in the muffs if you need additional sound clarification and tweaking, but the sound quality is so great you don't really need them.

The Sennheiser is well built, sound quality is impressive, and its appearance is elegant. The only things I would change are the buttons on the earphones for power, volume and balance, maybe the way the unit is charged, and the way it turns on and off. I have used the Sennheiser RS-130 for the past 4 years, and the surround sound was incredible and delicious. My main uses are for Blu-ray movies and late night TV viewing as to not disturb any neighbors, plus it's an intimate experience without any street noise. This feels like a silly oversight from the design team! I would easily recommend these and would buy them again in a heartbeat!

With this easy modification, I give this headset a solid 5 STARS. Too bad Sennheiser didn't do this at the factory, but it is very easy to do at home. The sound of this headset is outstanding. This makes it impossible for me to use them in this way. Since I have hearing issues and is why I buy earphones, I really can't use them for one purpose that is very important to me.

If they're in a completely different room with a closed door, you might be able to. I haven't heard any complaints about that, but lifting them off my head, I can tell they're definitely broadcasting the music outwards quite a bit. I can walk around my house and not miss my program. The set up was fairly easy although I did have to print out the manual from the included software. Customer service tells me that extra headsets are not available until around June. These headphones also come with rechargeable batteries.

It has completely worthless buttons on the side that are too small and flat and unusable while you are wearing. You have to take off the phones to adjust volume, etc. Third, I've generally been satisfied with the range of these headphones. I live in a 2 story, 2900 square-foot house, and I typically get reception just about anywhere in the house. The sound is excellent in my book. The highs are crisp, the mid-range/speech areas are clear and the bass sounds are very solid but not booming. Good instructions and it looks very sleek and modern. Works fantastic.
