Better Home Entertainment with Networking

By Shafiq Ul Hasan

Technology has become extremely advanced these days and easy widgets are not used. Every gadget and tool has evolved into a complicated device with numerous functions at the very same time. Who would have thought till a couple of years ago that it could be possible to receive free fax on the phone some day? This is a reality now and it is easy to get a fax to phone or to your e-mail address with no need a fax. In the same way you can send a fax to somebody utilising the digital camera of your smartphone. Similarly a simple MP3 player can also store your contact and even a calendar to organize your vital events.

Networking enables you to enjoy your fave things on the telly or on the PC. If you'd like to show your relatives some footage then they don't have to huddle round the small computer screen, instead they can view the photos on the huge Television screen if you simply connect the Television to the PC. You may also network in the other direction so that you can enjoy Television programs on the PC as well. Networking connects the computer and TV of your house so you can enjoy features of both on the screen of your preference.

For watching TV programs on your computer you will have to connect the Television with the computer with an AV cable. There are many sorts of AV wire that may connect the TV with the PC like S-video, HDMI or VDA. Most modern TVs support some kind of AV cable connectivity. It's also possible to connect the computer and Television without cables. For this reason you need to install a device between the Television and the computer called the Wireless PC to TV system. This is thanks to the fact that most TVs don't support a Wi-Fi system which is the simplest way of connecting the 2 devices without using wires.

There is another way of connecting your TV and computer without using wires. It is based on Window Media Center Edition, also called the MCE. If you have lately purchased a Window XP or a Windows Vista P.C with the MCE included, then you don't have to buy any cables because this system has in-built wireless connectivity for showing photographs to your Television. This system could also support Television Turner cards which allow you to watch Television programs on your P. C.

Before attempting to network your home devices, you must also know 1 or 2 facts. First off, the resolution of older models of TV is much lower than the modern ones, so your images may not appear as neat and sharp as they look on the PC if your TV is a few years old. If you need to connect the 2 using AV wires, you could have to put the two close to one another so the wire can reach both devices. From another perspective the same applies for employing a wifi and you could have to put the 2 closer so the digital signals can be simply transferred.
