Article Marketing -- To Implement Or Not To Implement As A Promotional Strategy?

By Gene Fink

Writing articles on the Internet is now far more than a hobby for those who aren't into making money. It is most definitely one of the easiest ways to promote your online business fast and for "free". However, it may sound easy and it may indeed be free, but writing articles and submitting them to e-zine directories or article repositories may be time-consuming. But regular practice may lead you to a level of speed and accuracy that will be earning you quite significantly before you know it.

This is how article marketing works

You write an article, maybe two, related to your niche, which should have some consonance with the website you are planning to advertise. Then you would go to the free article submission site of your choice, submit your articles, and get reciprocated with a link going back to your site. One of the most cogent advantages of such a simple ploy, and it can become even more so over time, would be the abundance of ezine publishers and website owners who would be needing fresh content to keep their websites up to date. This makes your website more prominent in search engine rankings due to the number of links that go back to your site -- all that because of the links back to your site and the exposure given to your article.

As you will probably know, one of the major factors in search engines algorithms is the number of relevant links pointing to your website. Do not ever underestimate the importance of the number of links you might gain as a result of article submission. All you need is some time to submit and a few articles ready, and by barely lifting a finger, you might just gain tens or hundreds more, or even thousands of one-way links more to your site! Without a doubt, this will redound to higher search engine placing as the top search engines will now have to rethink how they have ranked your site or page!

The consequence of this is obvious; more visitors, more sales, greater profit.

Article marketing is far more powerful and effective than reciprocal linking, a strategy considered to be archaic. Depending on the niche you have selected, it may or may not be a huge challenge to find potential sites to exchange links with. Nonetheless, there is enough evidence to prove that search engines are validating this theory as they generally place lesser importance on reciprocal links. If software options are limited, a link exchange between a smattering of links could take as long as several hours! In that time you could have possibly written about ten articles, submitted them to e-zine directories of your liking, and spent the rest of your day watching television as visitors add up and money rolls in!

The beauty part about this abrupt uptick in website traffic, added popularity for your links and greater interest in the products you sell is that all these advantages can be, and will be acquired free of charge.

You are missing out on a golden opportunity if you haven't begun to use articles as a promotional strategy for your product. What better way to entice visitors to your site than to educate them on a subject, and show them how much you know about your niche, whilst providing a link for them to find out more at your site.
