A Guide To Selling E-Books

By Arthur Goldberry

Writing and marketing eBooks is one way of doing business and earning a living in the comforts of your own home. To earn your place in the business, you should be able to compose and write sensible and factual information to give the impression of competence and authority. The success or failure of your venture will, to a large extent, depend in the perception of your credibility and reliability.

Reputation is a decisive factor that will bring people in to your website and the more visitors there are the more credible you will become, and the cycle goes on.

There are many ways to market your ebook. Some of the best ways are listed below:

When you place your eBooks in your email and forum signatures, offer a free bonus to visitors as well. The intent here is to convince people to go to your site with the possibility of making a sale. Joint Ventures. Look for a partner among other authors or e-zine publishers to join forces for the mutual promotions of your products or services. By pointing visitors to each other's websites, each will be doubling or tripling their products' and services' exposure.

One good way to advertise yourself is to post specimen samples of your work to network sites. And don't forget to mention your eBook and other pertinent data.

Buy or sponsor a spot in e-zines and other sites that have a constant flow of visitors.

Seek all e-book directories that you can access and submit your e-book for listing. The bottom line is for your eBooks to be seen in as many sites as possible.

Write a keyword rich sales page and optimize it for the search engines.

Offer two or three free bonuses with your ebook. Make an offer that is very hard to refuse.

Ask a few people to write review for your ebook in exchange for a free copy. The reviews should be seen by visitors in your site.

It will also help if you give free information to precede your e-book. People love free information and if you offer a quality report that gets them interested they very well may want to buy your ebook.

If you choose to publish an e-zine instead, make arrangements with other publishers to exchange solo or top sponsor ads. Solo ads are the most productive.

It will help if more people are involved in the marketing aspect for a commission. The Clickbank is an excellent host for this. It will cost you a small sum which will be a small price to pay for the potential returns.

Let customer read a couple of chapters to have a taste of what to expect. A free chapter or two would whet their appetite for more.

As with any marketing campaign, you have to stick with it. You have to be unwavering. You cannot submit to a couple of directories and post to a couple message boards and then sit back and wait to get rich. Marketing is a daily commitment.
