Getting signed up with Google Docs is rather easy, especially if you already have another Google account, such as email. With both of these, you get a limited amount of free storage, and you can upgrade if you need more space. If you need a backup solution that is a highly secure spot, then these storage places will not work for you.

You can definitely have more than one option when it comes to choosing a backup solution. In fact, for most people, it's generally best to use a combination of methods for different types of data.

An easy solution would be to put low-level security data in free services like Dropbox or Google Docs, and the important high level files for a paid service or an external drive. It is always possible to have something happen to the place you backup data, so it would be wise to have more than one backup solution for your important files. With your most important information, it is better to be over protected than the other way around. It's up to you, in the final analysis, to commit to backing up your information using one of the many backup solutions available. We've discussed a few options in this report that you can use.
