iPad Review -A Look at this Popular Device

By Gerald Benton

The iPad's popularity is turning heads. While many consumers have bought them, others are still unsure about them.

A good reason to get an iPad is if you like to read e-books. With the iPad, you get great screen color and brightness, unlike other readers such as the Kindle and Nook. Apple has its own bookstore called iBooks and provides you with an app for the Kindle. Of all the e-readers, the iPad will be more expensive if all it is used for is the function of reading eBooks. Only the iPad offers features such as access to the internet and the ability to play games and watch videos. Something that comic fans are happy about is the Marvel Comic app which lets you read Marvel comic books and view the illustrations in high definition.

If you already use an iPhone and are familiar with many of the apps that work with it, you'll be glad to know that most of them will also work on an iPad. Simple enough is synching all of your iPhone and iPod apps to your iPad. The number of apps is already numbering more than 100,000 and this is only getting higher. These great and diverse applications let you use your iPad for all sorts of means, such as reading magazines, playing games, getting information, services and more. Most apps for Apple devices are cheap and a lot are free.

The biggest complaint to date about the iPad is that there is no camera on this iPad. Based on this public reaction, there's a fairly good possibility that Apple will include one in future iPad models. But, for about $30 you can buy a kit that will allow you to connect your iPad to your digital camera. So even though you can't take pictures with your iPad, it's not very hard to download them from your camera.

As we've seen, the iPad is a versatile gadget that can do many things, but whether you think it's something you can really use depends on your needs. This device can do as much as a laptop computer, without the full expense. In this iPad review, we've taken a closer look at some of this product's strengths and weaknesses to give you a better idea of what it offers.
