About PS3 and HDMI Troubles

By Sam Galvan

A single cable called HDMI is very much needed when you have a PlayStation 3. This can let you transmit video and audio to a high-definition television. There are times when this single cable can let you have so many problems even though it is convenient to use. You'd have to restart your PS3 and look for any loose cables whenever you are faced with different HDMI PS3 problems. Or you may have to unplug the cables then plug them after again. When you are at home you can actually qualify to fix most of those problems with PS3 HDMI.

The Different HDMI PS3 Problems and their Solutions which are Most Common:

1). Whenever HDMI cable is bent and is not being plugged in properly, there will be a problem.

Fixing in the HDMI cable which is heavy and having a socket that does not have any locking device needed for fixing results in bending out easily of the cable from the socket. The bending would basically cause physical damage and interference in the video signal. What is now the solution? Simply get a right angle HDMI adapter that will fit into the PS3 and present a vertical socket for the HDMI cable to plug into. You can then eliminate any strain on the HDMI cable.

2). The HDMI does not Transmit Any Audio and Video

You try to check the PS3's settings. Make sure the HDMI is selected and is set to automatic so that signals are sent through the HDMI cable.

3). The Video Freezes or it tends to Black Out

Both HDTV and PS3 must be switched off. After switching off, you can now turn back on the HDTV and set the input from the PS3 HDMI cable. The power button of the PS3 will be pressed for 5 to 6 seconds then release it after the second beep. You are allowing the configuration of PS3 to HDTV's resolution.

4). There was lost or no video output after a few seconds

When there is no video signal or you lost the video output after a few seconds, most likely this is the result of cheap HDMI cables that are not allowing a connection to be setup between the PS3 and TV. What you need here is to purchase a good quality HDMI cable from a reputable brand name.

5). The Video output is not received from the HDMI output but from composite or component cables

Make sure that the PS3's firmware and TV's firmware are updated, first and foremost. You have to buy a new, high quality HDMI cable when it is not updated. There may be inability of your PS3 and TV to secure HDMI handshake if and when the problem still exists. You can buy a PS3 Component AV Cable or perhaps you can buy an HDMI switch which acts as a hub for HDMI connections. It is also important that your TV accepts HD over the component connection.
