Google Promotes Google+ Through The Traditional Paper Media And Celebrities

Although Google believes the efficiency of online advertising and it is making efforts to convince the marketing staff to turn the advertising budget from print media to online media, however, in the promotion of Google+, the company has released a number of print advertising. In addition, Google is still using celebrities to promote this social networking service to compete with Facebook.

Google recently released in "India Times" two editions of Google+ ads called "You SRK". The advertising reminds the reader, through Google+'s Hangout public chat service, PEOPLE can have dialogues with the famous movie star Shah Rukh-Khan. SRK's the nickname of Indian fans for Shah Rukh-Khan

Any Google+ user can start Hangout chat service and then invite 10 people at most to join in. In addition, the users can also through a feature called Hangouts on Air to live telecast and record video chat. It is unclear how many people will watch the Hangout live, but Rukh-Khan's Google+ page has attracted hundreds of thousands of relevant comments.

Google also published a full-page advertisement and carried out publicity and similar events. In the next day that Google+ opened to the public, the Black Eyed Peas William also held a public Hangout chat activity. He started direct chatting with 74 Google+ users. Google+ promoted the event below the search box of the home page.

Google's spokeswoman Katie Watson said the company does not disclose the data of the audience of Hangouts on Air or the details of Google's marketing plan. But the informed sources, Google has not paid any fees to the celebrity.

This is not the first time that Google uses traditional media to promote its service. The company last year used billboards to promote Chrome browser outside the United States and it released a TV ad of Chrome. It is not clear of the effect of the ads off line. Chrome in the past year has been able to achieve doubled market share mainly due to the web browsing speed of the product. Google has always been very good at measuring advertising effectiveness. So it means that the advertising on the show played a good effect.
