Chances are You've not actually spent more than a few minutes with the L86 LSW! It's the very first LMG to become unlocked leaving most gamers with the opinion that it is therefore the worst and most ineffective gun.
It is honestly a seriously heavy and slow gun with lots of recoil and barely anybody will try to unlock the full set of attachments for it resulting in them never knowing about the best one of all. The attachment that seriously sets this weapon up to being great is actually not very easy to use on many other guns! So what is the result of crossing the worst LMG with the weakest attachment? A weapon that will leave your foes weeping is what!
Yes, put the Thermal Scope on the L86 LSW and it will turn into a machine gun sniper. Having this scope attached in combo with the Grip attachment means you can stand fully erect and be firing at a person on the other end of the map and the scope will remain completely on target. Some have suggested it's like a laser, I choose to think of it as a machine sniper!
I actually like to run the LSW without the grip, instead using the silencer (with the attachments perk). The the recoil is still greatly reduced by the scope and the silencer can let you creep around the map plucking people off from the shadows. No red dot on the map from me thanks very much!
I have actually fully integrated this weapon with my sniper, or "ghost" class, along with Blind Eye Pro, Assassin Pro and Stalker Pro. Like this I stay off the map and radar and there is also the extra bonus that I can bring down pretty much any killstreak out of the sky due to the additional damage from blind eye pro and the enormous magazine of the LSW.
So what are you waiting for? Slip in your MW3 disk and start levelling your LSW up so you can get that thermal scope going on and you can start pwning all the noobs!
