Why I Prefer Online Gaming Over Playing Sports Any Day

By Jenny Bateman

I find it almost impossible to imagine what I would do with my time if I didn't have online gaming. Being a complete geek, sports is something that I hate. At school I am forced to join in the PE class but for me this is just fifty minutes of torture. When it comes down to it, I would rather have no legs than choose to join a sports team.

Below are just a few of the reasons why I think online gaming has so much more to offer than sports

Online gaming means that I never have to be concerned that I am going to end up on a stretcher. Why do aggressive people find sports so attractive? I find that most bullies think that playing sports gives them an excuse to exert their power over us weaklings. This never happens with online gaming. Bullies don't get as much fun from the online world so they stay out of it.

There is a great online gaming community full of interesting people. Even though there is plenty of competition, most of the people you meet are very friendly. You can spend a lot of time having conversations about any topic with a gaming geek; the same cannot be said of a sports person.

Playing online games means that it is possible for me to sit in comfort in my own home. Even if it is the middle of winter, you often have to brave the cold to play sports which is something that I hate.

Online gaming does not care if you are a weakling in real life. I don't have to have huge muscles in order to be a gaming champion. It is mental prowess that overcomes when playing these games; the ability to hit things does not matter.
