Regarding Photocopiers

By Antony Stelling

When automatic document feeders were first incorporated into photocopiers, it saved a lot of time compared to manually placing every sheet to be copied onto the platen glass because the ADF's were first patented in the mid 1970's and are now incorporated into almost all office photocopiers and multifunctional devices. The document feeders have allowed many other output options to be included, and this is from the inclusion, hence, making the whole process of producing professional looking documents to be much easier.

There are different and a number of tips that any business can follow, whether they own photocopiers that incorporate printing or separate devices. Significantly, this is just to make sure that everyone in the workplace only use photocopiers or printers when necessary. The wasteful photocopies are made frequently in most businesses and just getting everyone in the workplace to think before they photocopy could make a substantial difference in the cost. An incorporation of a software to track any printing done and allowing quotas to be set is best helped with the many new photocopiers that can definitely be networked.

The finishing options that are now available with most new photocopiers have also sped things up in terms of producing high quality documents with minimum manual input. Most photocopiers that we have today are capable of stapling and hole punching, with many devices being able to staple up to 50 sheets of paper together, which have automatically been sorted into the correct order. Aside from the stapling and whole punching capabilities, there are some photocopiers that are also capable of folding the document and producing professional looking booklets.

This professional booklet making is not limited to the color photocopier because there are some professional black and white machines that have the option to incorporate a pre printed color cover into the booklet. All these finishing options could save a lot of time and money, rather than what it takes to hire someone to complete all these tasks manually.

In order to help with the different output options available, there are many photocopiers that have multiple output paper trays, which means that the printed copies do not have to be removed frequently to make new copies being made. Moreover, the multiple paper trays also help with sorting options as they make it possible for the photocopier to sort each copy into a stack automatically. In most machines, the capacity of the cassettes found in photocopiers has also been improved and this is together with the multiple paper trays. The old photocopiers, requires the cassettes to be regularly replenished with more paper but, the many new devices have several cassettes, and often being able to hold up to 5000 sheets of paper all together, meaning that, the photocopier can be left to print without needing constant attention. More media types can also be used, as this makes the device more capable of printing cards, labels and much more because most often times, the photocopiers have the option for additional cassettes.

There are already a variety of output options available, hence, the documents can be replicated and printed very easily and automatically, saving both time and effort. Generally, the hours wasted having to manually place each copy onto the platen glass and then sorting out prints into the correct order can be saved, at the same time, all the time used to staple documents together.
