Screen Protector And How to Have Them Installed

By Tyler Kennedy

A screen protector is an accessory for mobile phones, PDAs, tablet computers, and other devices that protects the screen. Generally designed to shield touchscreen devices without reducing image quality or device function, most phone screen guard accessories are self-adhesive sheets of very thin, high clarity, scratch resistant plastic material. A normal phone screen guard of this type is built to be close to invisible when placed on the phone but to provide a high degree of safeguard. These protectors are disposable and leave behind no glue or other mastic residue when removed. Other protectors are for sale to some products that cover the entire device, not just the screen.

Why do I need a screen guard for my gadget? All phones come pre-attached with a screen guard in the box. That screen protector's purpose is to guard your cell phone's LCD display screen from the trip from the factory into your hands. If you look at it, you can observe that screen protector is really slender, but it is adequate enough to protect your cell phone's LCD screen inside a sealed box.

General wear and tear on your cellular phone or any other gadget such as video cameras, handheld video games systems, and laptops will demonstrate after a short time period. Particularly when you have a touchscreen devices like the iphones and tablets. You would like to protect those LCD screens on your devices because you spent a lot of money on them. The actual cost to change your LCD screen range anywhere up to $35 for the outer portion and $125 for the inner part. Almost all smart phone customers these days uses one for their cell phones because they don't want to deal with the hassle of replacing the LCD screen.

If you're not given specific guidelines for applying your screen protection, you can keep to the steps below as a guide. You will want: a credit card or ID card, a microfiber cloth, a pair of sharp scissors or knife, and a ruler. Measure the size of your phone's screen precisely and draw a likeness on the paper connected to the opposite side of the screen protector. Many screen guards come with a helpful grid to guide in this process. Cut along the inside of the line, developing a cutout slightly smaller than your outline. Wipe off the phone's screen with the cloth, being sure to rid it of all dust and finger prints.

Peel about an inch of the protective paper off the screen protector and thoroughly line it up with the bottom of the phone screen. You should try to appropriately straighten up protector on the first try, as repeated applications result in lowered adhesion. Slide the cardboard about one-third of the screen to create a tight seal. Do not use too much force, as you might scratch the screen guard. Rub the applied portion with the cloth to remove any trapped air bubbles. Repeat this process, going up the length of the screen until the screen protection is fully applied.
