Modern Warfare Game Review

By Adam Jefferies

With every year, comes another one of the epic tittles we play, waiting for the next one the successive year, which has formed, the call of duty franchise. In 2009, we witnessed an expected call of duty game, the continuation to the sequel of Call of duty 4: Modern warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The game generated revenue beyond what anyone could think a game could. People had formed huge queues in front of numerous game stores and once bought the game, were rushing outside back to their homes. It was a time where marketers and Infinity Ward, both made profit beyond what they had calculated. Every day, from the release of Modern warfare 2 till the mid of 2010, the total money generated from this game in the entire world summed up to 200 million US $ a day. No game had ever reached till that extent.

The game released mid November of 2009. The story starts where Call of duty 4 left off. After Zakhaev is killed, he became the hero of Russia. Makarov, a fellow terrorist from Russia, swore to avenge him. You take two roles, one as a US soldier and the other as a member of the group of Task Force 141, a secret operations team. For the US army, you play as Private Allen and James Ramirez. In the TF141, you play as Roach Sanderson and Soap Mactavish himself.

As any other call of duty, the basic things we do in this game includes taking down, defending, capturing or evacuating a target. The game has adapted well to realism and made the whole game more interactive and destructive than the previous one. The game has 4 modes of difficulty: Recruit, Regular, Hardened and Veteran. On Regular difficulty, the game can be completed in a small duration of only 5 hours. As you increase the difficulty, the time taken to complete the game increases due to the factors like enemies having greater accuracy. But you can rest assured as it is pretty fantastic.

Then again, the multiplayer isn't too bad either. New perks, new weapons, new maps and a new game engine. I don't think we can ask for any more. But to judge the multiplayer part of the game, one must play it because the opinion the call of duty multiplayer has VERY large variation. But in the end, if you are a call of duty fan and loved call of duty 4 and 5, this game is a must buy because it projects itself as a basic call of duty and a LOT more.
