Italy Tours Are Waiting For You

By Adriana Noton

Welcome to Italy! Planning a trip to this beautiful country will be forever cherished for years to come. Italy tours have some of the most historical and notable sights found in the world, as well as lovely scenery, landmarks and monuments. Everyone can find something to appease their sense of adventure here. Begin the day in Rome, followed by Florence and Naples, and the winding canals of Venice under a star filled sky.

The sun is rising on the Italian horizon, peeking out from behind the clouds and misty darkness and illuminating everything it touches. Brew a cappuccino and share it with your sweetheart on the veranda; this is the country of romance. You could schedule a guided tour on a bus, trolley or a train, or if you are feeling adventurous you can create your own unique tour.

The first stop is Rome, which contains so many enchantments. The Sistine Chapel with its beautiful painted ceilings, The Vatican home to the beloved Pope, and The Colosseum with its grand structure beckons to you. Also home to the Renaissance era, Rome has seen its share in war and suffering throughout its growing pains in centuries past, including Nazi influence and World Wars I and II. St Peter Square in Vatican City, the Arch of Constantine, and the Pantheon are also noteworthy.

Next on the agenda is the impressive town of Florence, which houses the largest Franciscan church in the whole country. It is special due to it being home to the tombs of Dante and Michelangelo Buonarotti. Michelangelo original art is found here, and also the Galleria dell Academia, which showcases many of the most well known sculptures and paintings, including the impressive David sculpture. Make time to visit the Galleria degli Uffizi before you head to Naples, which portrays hundreds of Renaissance art and tapestries.

On the coast just south of Rome we come to Naples, weaved decoratively with history and intrigue. The National Archaeological Museum features Roman and Greek antiquities, finds of Pompeii, mosaics, gems, fine metals and more.

The Orto Botanico, originated in 1545 and stands as the oldest botanical garden found anywhere in the world, and truly is remarkable especially to those with a passion for gardening. Last here is the Via San Biagio, with all kinds of shopping offerings, too many to tempt you to take a piece of Italy home with you when you leave.

As night draws to a close, we finally arrive in Venice. Venice is simply over a hundred bodies of land all connected with many canals and bridges, yet it has so much mystique and beauty. A vaporetti will float along the surface of the water, carrying you to the heart of Venice in Saint Mark Square and Basilica. Live music fills the air from every direction, and the people are enjoying the evening with laughter and dancing. At Rialto Bridge, open a special bottle of Italian wine to savor along with the local seafood delicacies.

Italy vacations seem like a home away from home, for so much of its history has touched our world today. So much, perhaps you will lengthen your stay there, or promise to return again someday. Italia per sempre!
