The 4 Best Sonic Games

By Frank Heltin

Sonic games sell great in today's video game market even though our blue hero does not have a console he can call home. Since Sega stopped developing new consoles many people thought that Sonic would disappear for good. But the real fans know that you cannot keep Sonic the Hedgehog down. He has been appearing on different consoles, sometimes even with his rival Mario. Lets take a quick look at some great Sonic games.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Great graphics and the gameplay in this game stayed the same compared to the previous Sonic game, but the levels are more interactive. There are more context sensitive items you can interact with. Every level has also a boss at the end instead of every other level.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

This Sonic game introduces Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic his best friend and sidekick. Tails is a cool character that can fly using his tails. He has about the same moves as Sonic, but is more passive and a little bit weaker. Sonic and Knuckles

The levels are larger and more complex. The designers really put effort in giving you a truly enjoyable experience. The music and sound effects are also on point. This is truly an enjoyable game if you are looking for some entertainment.

Sonic Adventure

Sonic Adventure is a beautiful 3D game that was well received by the public. Of course there were people who doubted that Sonic could crossover to 3D. Not only did he do, but he made a big splash, also.

Most of the games in the list are 2D games. The newer fans might not be familiar with the 2D Sonic. This is a shame and they should play the older games. Those were the glory days when Sonic was in competition with his rival Mario. But Mario could never keep up with Sonic.

All these games are great, but there is a common theme that keeps reoccurring. The graphics are consistent, but seem to improve with each game. The music stays pumping. And Sonic stays as confident and fast as ever.
