Digital Camera Price Comparison

By Gina Parks

Digital camera prices have been constantly dropping whilst the quality and complexity of the digital cameras has been rising rapidly. Many people can afford great quality digital cameras now. In fact, you can buy 5 or 6-megapixel cameras at a 4-megapixel camera's price these days.

Digital cameras worth $200-$300 come with an image resolution of up to 5 mega pixels and a 3X optical zoom lens. You should know the minimum features that are expected in such prices. These features should be included in digital cameras that are worth $200-$300.

A shooting capability of 1.3 frames per second Scene modes: 10-20 Built-in flash feature Lens opening: from f2.8 to f4.8 An optical viewfinder and a 1.5-2 inch-LCD Optical zoom lens with 35-115mm lens equivalent range rechargeable batteries A shutter speed of 4 seconds to 1/2000 second Plastic or metal housing A video clip capture with audio at 320x240 resolution

Digital camera prices can vary and it is essential to know what the most useful features are. Obviously you want to take good pictures but don't want to pay the inflated digital camera prices that the high-end cameras have. But the features are the important things to consider. The higher the numbers of mega pixels that the cameras have, the higher the digital camera prices are but this does not necessarily guarantee better pictures.

For $200-$300 digital cameras, you should look for the scene modes feature. The scene modes do not affect the price of the digital camera, but they will give you better pictures without having to adjust the camera settings manually. Majority of the better digital cameras that are within the price range have scene modes. Most cameras that are worth $200-$300 are compact and will fit in a jacket pocket.
