The Key to Success of Microsoft Office

By Jozo Ujhely

Microsoft Office is perhaps the most famous application in the world ever made. It includes 3 important applications, Word, Excel and Powerpoint which are installed on pretty much every PC internationally. Microsoft Office is the industry standard in word-processing, it is utilized by several thousand corporations every day.

The critical advantage of Microsoft Office is that pretty much everyone has used it before and thus you do not have to learn how to use a new application with different control panel. Lots of people keep on employing Microsoft Office just because they have gained a lot of experience and substantial ability in using it and they do not want to throw that away. That is the reason why users of the Office reacted so badly to Office 2007 which introduced a completely new user interface and completely different way of using the application. Lots of people were shocked and really upset, they preferred the old look.

However , after some time people got used to the new look and they actually really liked it. Finally they discovered that the most recent version was much more effective and far easier to use after you pass the learning period. Users realised that they can produce documents much faster with Office 2007. You can take a look at it for yourself, simply download free Microsoft Word.

Microsoft Office has been facing increasing pressure from it's rivals in the previous couple of years. There's OpenOffice which is totally free and offers almost all the features of Microsoft Office. From the other viewpoint, it doesn't have such an outstanding user interface and it's far less efficient and a lot slower in making documents. Google Docs is also free and it allows users to keep all of their documents in "the cloud". Thus it is extremely easy to share documents or cooperate on a project with colleagues. Nevertheless Google Docs hasn't got all of the phenomenal features of Microsoft Office.

To sum up, Microsoft Office has been enormously successful product in the last 20 years and it is still so.
