Tips for Taking the Windows Server 2008 Firm Administrator Examination

By Mark T. Lile

These are some general tips for attaining success on your documentation exam:

Arrive early at the exam center so that you can relax and review your study materials. In this last review, you can look over tables and inventories of exam-related info.

Read the questions carefully. Don't be tempted to jump to an early conclusion. Ensure you know precisely what the issue is asking.

Answer all questions. If you're uncertain about a question, then mark the query for review and return to the question at a future time.

On simulations, don't change settings that are not immediately related to the question. Also, assume factory settings if the question does not specify or imply which settings are used.

For questions you are not sure about, use a process of elimination to lose the obvi- ously inaccurate answers first. This improves your chances of selecting the right answer when you need to make an informed guess.

Don't be surprised by seeing a technology you Do not recognise. Part of the job of an Enterprise Administrator is to be acquainted with nearly everything, but that?s a troublesome nut to crack. Just stick with your gut, and you must do well.

You can take the Microsoft examinations at any of more than 1,000 Authorized Prometric Test- ing Centers (APTCs) around the globe. For the positioning of a testing center near you, call Prometric at MCSE 2003 Certification (755-3926). Outside the U. S. and Canada, contact your local Prometric registration center.

Learn the number of the exam you would like to take and then register with the Prometric registration center closest to you. At about that point, you'll be asked for advance payment for the examination. The exams are $125 each, and you have to take them inside one year of payment. You can schedule examinations up to six weeks in advance or as late as one working day prior to the date of the exam. You can cancel or reschedule your examination if you contact the center at least 2 working days before the exam.
