Using Exact Match Domains As A Tool For Success

By Dean Smith

A domain name that includes all the exact keywords in its title are exact match domains. The domain name is essentially made up exclusively of keywords. Say, for instance, that you were a company that sold cookies; the exact match domain would be "cookies.com". When a website's domain is a perfect fit as it is here, the business will benefit from returning the most results when that keyword is searched.

Securing a high rank in the search results is critical. The Search Engine Ranking Positions (SerPs) are determined based on a number of factors, particularly the keywords that show up in the domain name itself. When a search engine is looking through all the results for a specific query, it will always make the assumption that the works in the domain are related to the content. Therefore, companies that can secure a perfect name domain are virtually guaranteeing themselves a large number of hits to their site.

At one point in time, a consumer interested in a product or service would have turned to the phone book and scoured the Yellow Pages for words related to what they were searching for. Search engines work in a similar fashion, and consumers are going to go for the entry that is closest and most reliable to the search. With this knowledge, search engines are programmed to produce results with a perfect match to the searched phrase.

Search Engine Optimization is a standard set by internet marketers that all search engines will rank EMDs higher than any and all similar websites with the same keyword or phrase. Most users want to spend a minimal amount of time exploring results of a search. Therefore, the more spot on a website is to matching a consumer's desire, the more likely it will receive hits. This increased existence will assist in a website developing to its full potential.

Many businesses are growing savvy to this sort of game. Highly competitive fields are feeling this the most. Some of these businesses are being forced to be creative and rely on niche marketing, which narrows down their customer base but focuses on a specific subset of their needs.

Type-in traffic is another tool that the system's users can benefit from. Rather than going to a search engine per se, the user can just input his search phrase into the address bar of the browser. This type of search will also yield results with perfect matches.

While the primary focus of advertising is generally to reach as many potential customers is possible, it can be a costly endeavor. Even in today's digital age, companies still rely on paper forms of advertisement. However, those who can use strategy and integrate this important practice into their marketing, will find that they have no shortage of potential customers.

When it comes to marketing and advertising, there is a lot of competition. Many businesses will settle on direct mail marketing and flyers. There are those out there whom are looking to obtain domination over a larger audience. The Internet can be a confusing cluster, but when used correctly and strategically, it can benefit businesses greatly. Using exact match domains provides the necessary avenues for businesses to thrive and not only handle but take over competitive businesses. Forums and message boards allow for a strong word of mouth from consumers, making way for even more potential growth.
