Review of the Apple iPad

By Madeleine Rodriquez

New gadgets appear and some people can't resist buying them. There are a lot of people that have gathered information on the iPad, but some are still cautious. Is there a right or wrong answer on wither you should own this device one or not, many people have their own opinion. Below we'll be looking at some of the reasons people have either praised or criticized the iPad.

The iPad has an impressively long battery life. This is a major accomplishment in a world where people are constantly needing to charge some sort of small electronic device. The general life span of the iPad batter is 10 hours which allows you to go the better part of a day without recharging it. There have been some users who have reported being able to use their iPads for an hour or two beyond this. In the end, you can be confident that you have more than an hour or so of usage without worrying about your battery life. There are also accessories you can purchase to extend the duration of the charge.

Having an iPad, gives you fast access to your news and other information that is convenient and visually appealing. Having free apps can give you access to The New York Times as well as various apps for other newspapers and magazines, now this may cost later on in 2011. While having this type of access on a regular computer as well as an Ipad, there is a unique interface that makes it easy to navigate the layout and enjoy high quality images. Did you know you can get apps for the weather and Google Earth, aside from the news?

One of the main complaints about the iPad is that it doesn't have a camera. With so many complaints about this missing piece, it's quite possible that future generations of the iPad will. If you're serious about photos on your iPad there is a cable you can purchase that will connect your digital camera to your iPad. Despite the fact that you cannot snap photos on your iPad that doesn't mean you can't carry them around with you on your iPad.

The great thing, for many people, about the iPad, is that you get all the features you'd expect from a laptop but in a package that is easier to carry around and weighs a lot less. Yes, laptops are portable but the smaller size and weight of an iPad makes it much more convenient to carry around. The iPad, by contrast, weight only 1. 5 pounds and has a screen that's 9.5 by 7. 5 inches. You may not be able to wear it on your belt like a phone but it is definitely more convenient than your average laptop bag. The iPad makes things you can do on your mobile phone like surfing the web and social networking seem clunky and outdated by comparison. With so many wonderful features to offer, it's no wonder that so many people find the iPad appealing. It's the total package for entertainment complete with access to the Internet. However, you'll have to trade off popular features like phone calls and taking pictures in the process. There is a lot to think about when you try to decide whether the iPad is the right choice for you and your needs.
